Choking Dreams or Choking on Them February 5, 2009

Pace and Kyeli self published a book called The Usual Error.  I’m reading it a chapter at a time from their blog.

My introduction to them was linksual and it was like getting the Heimlich manever even though I didn’t notice I was choking but was, really choking and not breathing.

(I love the web for that very reason.)

They published How to Write and Self-Publish a Book AFTER they finished writing and self-publishing a book. So mind blowing instead of the way I’m trying to do it.

Because I’m being all stubborn, warrior-woman, super LaShae, powering through this dream of Elephant eating like it’s a contest and shaking my head up down like I’m okay and can breathe when really I can’t breathe at all and I’m getting a little blue in the face trying to get my mom to start posting on her WordPress blog still not noticing that because I’m choking, so is she…

Their post runs up, slips behind me, wrapping it’s arms around me all concerned and with one lightening quick thrust just below my diaphragm, helps me expell a huge chunk of my dream elephant.

…Wow, it sort of looks like me trying to help my mom do a thing I have never done before in my life and man that is one huge chunk of dream that I had stuck in my own throat…

I sincerely want to thank Pace and Kyeli for helping me stop choking, so I could stop choking my mom’s dream even though I didn’t know I was chocking ANYTHING.

Now mom is up and running In Clara’s Words.

That’s her blog. WOOT WOOT and it’s on Blogger, cause that’s where she is …breathing and chewing and digesting without choking

and

…having fun and meeting people in Finland (waves hi to Blue and Arkansas Patti) who love her poetry.

No it’s not WordPress.  I like WordPress but it’s not right for my mom.

Check out her blog and the other links in this post, especially if you are eating an Elephant and not paying attention to what choking really looks like.

Just in case you missed the links up there in the post:

Keep Eating!

You’re welcome! We’re very glad you found the book, and that it’s helping you and your mom and your process. (: That’s why we put out the post on self-publishing – it’s a hard and mysterious process, and we want to open the box and make it easier. (:

Good luck to you both! (:

(ps: my name is Kyeli; no worries, it’s a common misspelling.)

Kyeli and Pace – Thanks for sharing your process. I’ll be digging through the archives for sure.

Sorry to have misspelled Kyeli’s name and I checked they’re all fixed now Kyeli. :) )
